Описание программы NiX Security scanner

NiX Security Scanner is a security scanner for Linux distributions. The project will try find rootkits and backdoors, and try to determine whether your system hacked or not. It will also scan your distribution for misconfigured daemons (services).

· A regexp in hidden PID detection was changed, so now it will warn when it really should.
· The SUID root check was changed to warn about any SUID binary anywhere when it has the minimum amount of functions needed to also be a backdoor.
· Function and variable definitions were moved into conf/NiX.init. A configuration file was added into conf/nix.conf.
· The check for a new version is off by default.
· Full ext2/ext3 filesystem debugging was added.
· This method will detect nearly any kernel level rootkit that is using hidden files.
· This was tested with SuckIt v2 and Mood-NT.
