Описание программы CactuShop

CactuShop is an ASP (Active Server Pages) shopping cart designed to provide a powerful base for e-commerce web sites hosted on Microsoft Windows web servers.
Database-Driven
The system uses an MS Access, MS SQL or MySQL (Windows) database to store product information and most other content. ASP scripts pull out the information and format it as HTML which is sent to the browser.
Cross-Platform
Because CactuShop requires no browser plugins or Java virtual machine, there are no lengthy waits for pages to appear, and the pages will work on all common browsers with default security and privacy settings.
Scalable
CactuShop runs everything from small hobby stores to large high-street retailers. It is almost unlimited in terms of capacity - some stores running CactuShop have over half a million products, while others have just a handful!
Easy to Setup
CactuShop should be able to run on most MS Windows hosting packages. Once the files are copied to the hosting, an install helper script walks through the basic setup.
Easy to Customize
CactuShop is 'skinned' - the look and feel is controlled by editing an HTML page template. The new extensive CSS implementation in v6 allows pinpoint control of almost any visual aspect.
Powerful Back End
CactuShop has a refined back end with useful cross-data search to make finding things easy. The product set up and management is equally efficient, using a well-trusted interface style that has evolved over several generations of CactuShop. Virtually all site content, including most general text, can be edited from the back end. The back end has been tested for cross-platform compatibility, ensuring the store can be administered for users with any common browser on any operating system.
This version contains the features required for most web stores and offers the most cost-effective route to implementing a live CactuShop store.

W3C Standards Compliant
CactuShop's default template and the code created by all front end pages is designed to adhere to the W3C's recommended XHTML specification. The placement and appearance of almost every page element can be controlled thanks to the extensive CSS implementation. CactuShop's skinning system means graphic designers can work on the look and feel without touching any ASP files.

Product Options
Multiple product options per item such as size, colour, style, etc. are possible. You can also turn these options into specific combinations and track stock of each separately.

Multiple Language Capability
Database driven for easy editing and changes online; supports individual skins for each language.

Multiple Currencies
You can customize each one separately, so users can see each displayed in its preferred form, for example Ј 5.20 (with space), $4.60 (no space), 7,30 Kr (symbol after amount and comma as decimal separator) or Ґ165 (no decimal fractions). A real-time exchange rate update facility is available as part of support coverage.

Configurable Tax and Shipping
You can choose prices including or excluding tax, tax displayed or hidden until checkout, EU VAT support, tax exemption for overseas/out-of-state customers and base shipping charges on UPS real time quotes or the built-in CactuShop banded shipping system.

Saved Baskets, Wishlists and Speedorder
Save a basket to your account or during checkout and reload it whenever you need it. Set up wishlists for others to purchase items for you. Enter item codes of products from a printed catalogue or other source and add them straight to your basket.

Customer Reviews
Configurable to allow anyone to post, only customers or only those who have bought the item they wish to review. You can also require reviews to be approved before going live.

· Windows NT 4, 2000 or 2003 Server (XP Pro can run a development version)
· Microsoft IIS 4.0+ web server
· MS Active Server Pages support
· MS Access database drivers or MS SQL Server 7/2000/2005 or MySQL 5+ (for Windows)
· VBScript 5.0+ (installed on server with IE 5.0+, required for the image upload system to work)
· CDONTS, CDOSYS, ASPmail (ServerObjects), ASPemail (Persits) or Jmail for sending email.
· Microsoft MSXML3.0 DLLs installed on server (to use UPS shipping, Paypal IPN and the CactuShop real time news feed) - these are now standard Microsoft components and will probably be installed on most newer servers in default configuration.
· Furthermore, CactuShop requires IUSR 'full control' permissions on the upload images folders, the HTML folder and the database file and database folder (if using MS Access). Some hosts set these as standard for the whole web and others will do it to the required folders if requested. But a few hosts will not do this or will only do it to certain folders that *they* specify. In that case, CactuShop will not function properly. Do not select a host who cannot or will not set the permissions required for CactuShop to run properly.

· Some other features that are not required to stock the database or design a skin such as search, stats, Froogle feed, real-time currency rates feed, etc.
