· Private
Your personal media is only accessible from within a Channel (not a public Web site) and only authorized Subscribers of a Channel—your specific friends and family—can access it's media.
· Simple
You save files, they click links. What could be simpler than that? You don't have to manually upload to a Web site and your Subscribers can literally just sit there and have your media come to them. (“Chair potatoes” might soon be joining “couch potatoes” in our collective lexicon.)
As ZDNet put it in their recent review, "Enjoymymedia offers a simple way to share files with people who are not computer savvy. Friends and family don't even have to log in to see your latest additions. Google and IE7 (and others) will inform them automatically."
· "Live" Multimedia
Your shared media is Netcast "live" so Subscriber's always receive your current version: photos, videos, documents, audio files, podcasts, web page bookmarks, email, zip files, executables, large files, any file can be Netcast.
· My Media = Yours + Web
We know that your "personal" media—media personally interesting or important—does not solely reside on your computer. Private Netcasting therefore lets you include online media and information in your Channels: YouTube videos, iTunes songs, information from medical, financial, hobby, vacation or other web sites, and more. And if your media happens to be on more than one of your computers (multiple computers at home, your work PC) no problem! You can Private Netcast your media regardless of which machine it happens to be stored on.
· Directed, Targeted, Precise
Rather than sharing media individually, EnjoyMyMedia allows you to create Channels that contain your media organized by interest, topic, audience or any other way you'd like. Since Channels are what your friends and family actually subscribe to, EnjoyMyMedia allows you to precisely target your Netcasts to specific friends and family: Aunt Minnie can receive your Joke Channel while Uncle Moe gets your Political Blog.
· Collaborative
Netcasters will shortly be able to promote select Subscribers to "Co-Producers" so they may contribute their own media and add their own Subscribers to a Channel. For example, two adult siblings, Tom & Mary, can Co-Produce a Channel and contribute their respective family's media to a single Channel. This will be very convenient for Tom & Mary's parents as all of their grandchildren's media will be in one place (rather than having to subscribe to separate Tom & Mary Channels). Collaboration will also allow a single Netcaster who has media on more than one computer, to Netcast their disparate media into a single Channel (as if you are collaborating with yourself).
· More Netcasting goodies: "Ratings" and "Listings"
Just like a television network, some of your media will be more popular than others. Ratings allows you to monitor and track the popularity of your media with your Subscribers. Similarly, you can control your Channel's Listings - how the media is sequenced in your channel. This is important, for instance, when a series of photos have to be seen in a specific order to "tell" a story.
· Subscribers - any Computer, Netcasters - Windows
Your Subscribers can share your media on any computer anywhere in the world: Windows, Mac, Linux—as long as it has an Internet connection and they are an authorized Subscriber, they can enjoy your media.
Currently, Netcasters can install the EnjoyMyMedia Transmitter on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server or Vista computers. We will be adding additional operating systems in the future.
